Bubble painting is a really fun activity, children love to see the imprints of the bubbles they've made on paper. However, this version of it involves blowing coloured bubble liquid through bubble wands onto paper.
Seeing the coloured bubbles explode is brilliant fun!
After making our own bubble blowers with straws, The Boy wanted to see if he could find anything else to use to blow bubbles.
So we raided the kitchen utensils!
The Boy absolutely loves bubbles and the more that can be blown at a time, the better. He's a huge fan of bubble blowers which produce several at a time, and so we decided to have a go at creating out own multi-bubble blower using drinking straws.
Continuing my series of bubble activities that I'm featuring this week, today's simple play activity uses basic craft ingredients and a couple of items from the kitchen.
Rainbow bubbles is a fun sensory activity which really allows the child to lead their learning and exploration of the materials. I set this out for The Boy (5 years) and his cousin (8 years) and both of them spent nearly an hour making 'potions' and comparing concoctions.

I like themes for birthday parties, and when we decided to have a joint birthday party with The Boy's best friend, the theme was set of a LEGO party. Suitable invitations seemed quite elusive so I lost myself in Pinterest for a few hours, found a number of ideas for inspiration, and set to making our own personalised invitations.
I used to love making peg dolls as a child, and would frequently make small versions of family members for them. We were recently given a couple of traditional wooden pegs and The Boy instantly pretended it was a person with legs; the perfect opportunity to create a mini-me with him.
I've recently come to realise that bunting is an easy way to decorate a room for a special occasion, and with an abundance of card and craft materials, plus a willing and able assistant, it's a fun and easy craft activity to do together.
We've been sent a wonderful selection of craft items to get to grips with, and the minute The Boy saw the three different sized polystyrene eggs he declared that we'd be making a family of Easter chicks. And so armed with acrylic paint, feathers, googly eyes and foam feet we set to work.
