Family Camping With Aldi (Review)

I don't do camping. Just like I don't do the dishes.

Anyone who knows me, knows this.

There needs to be a bed, a toilet, a shower, a mirror, a floor! I like walls, windows, doors, etc. and the thought of camping scares me quite a bit. However, I have a small child and, while he has never mentioned camping, I knew it was only a matter of time before the concept of sleeping in a tent raised its head.

So when Aldi challenged me to try camping and offered to send me some equipment to fulfill this task, I decided to bite the bullet.

Win £100 In M&S Vouchers (Giveaway)

Fancy winning £100 in Marks and Spencer's vouchers? Just for being a little bit sensible?

There are some things in life which at the time make you feel grown-up, like buying your first car or being offered a first job. Then there are other every day matters that happen which you don't realise about until afterwards, like taking out life insurance, or making a will. Those are the real situations that suddenly have you stop, take stock of a situation and realise that you've just been all responsible and adult in a decision.

Ever since we bought our first house, we've always been very over-cautious in the insurances that we've taken out; ASU, Life Insurance, PPI (no we weren't mis-sold it, we knew what we were doing). There was no way we wanted to be left floating down the proverbial creek without any form of guidance, and so we investigated them thoroughly and took out the appropriate.

Now we have a son, we need to readjust some of these insurances, and consider others. Since having The Boy my health hasn't been the best and so medical insurance is something that we're considering. There are a range of online insurance tools available, but few have everything in one place; the family insurance tool from Drewberry Insurance is an easy to use facility which can help identify insurances which can be taken out to help protect your family.

The lovely folk behind the Drewberry Insurance Tool would like your opinion on it and are offering the chance to win £100 in Marks and Spencer's vouchers for your opinion. To be in with a chance of winning, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.

Orchard Toys: Football Game (Review & Giveaway)

There comes a time in a child's life when it's a good idea to start introducing them to positive current affairs, to show they that there's a wider world beyond their little cocoon. A sporting event like the Olympics is always a good way to start, as it shows healthy competition and promotes exercise. This year there are two major sporting events which are perfect to ignite children's interest; the Commonwealth games, and the FIFA World Cup.

Orchard Toys have recognised the popularity and have produced the fabulous Football Game to encourage this.

Splashing About In The Summer Sun

It seems like the Summer is beginning to whizz by! One minute we're busy waiting for a bit of warmth and sunshine, and the next I'm beginning to worry about fitting in all the days out which I'd wanted to plan.

But in amongst all of this, when it comes down to it, is a little boy who just wants to play in the water.

Revitalising Our Home (Supported Post)

We've come to a point in our monthly expenditure that excites us.

The £25,000 loan (which we had to take out to do structural work on our house when we bought it nine years ago) has finally been paid off.

Turns out £400 a month loan repayment is quite crippling on one and a half incomes.

It excites us for various reasons, but none more so than starting to attack the list of 'Things I'd Really Like To Change In Our House If We Had The Money'.

The Boy… Aged Five

Creating this collection of The Boy's favourite things every year on his birthday has become a tradition for me, and looking back on his likes when he was three years old and last year's photo, I love to see the progression. Peppa Pig never seems to be far away though, I wonder how much longer she'll be around for?
