320. Investigation (We were lucky enough to go on the Kingdom of the Elves Christmas experience at Bluestone today, where The Boy was transported through the elf workshop and shown what they do to make the presents for the children who write to Father Christmas. There were two dodgy moments, when he was first given his elf apron and then his elf ears, as he thought it meant he would be turned into an actual elf. The innocence and naivety of infants hey?)
321. Crashed Out (Absolutely exhausted today after such a busy weekend, I just hope he doesn't end up picking up a bug as a result.)
322. Pants (I ask him to go upstairs and get changed after school and five minutes later, this is what I find. I can't complain really, who would object to their child reading?!)
323. Cousins (We took the children out for tea together as my sister had her operation today).
324. Jolly Jars (The PTA have a really popular stall at the Christmas Fayre which involves a lucky dip of a decorated jar filled with treats. We raided our party bag and Hallowe'en leftovers and stuffed three jars full of quality goodies. I bet the jar that The Boy wins will be full of absolute rubbish!)
325. The Hint of a Smile (He's not feeling marvellous here, having had a headache for 36 hours since midnight on Wednesday/Thursday night, I think he might have a virus as he's terribly pale and complaining of a sore throat. I hate germs!)
326. Big and Small (These two are absolute monkeys together and The Boy adores his cousins so much. We went to visit my sister today and I sent the boys out into the garden to get some fresh air. The Boy is wearing his big cousin's old sweatshirt, and it was hanging off him. But then, look at the length of his legs in comparison!)

Not sure if it's the apron but he looks so tall in that first pic. How cool would it have been if they did turn him into an elf, bless him π boo to viruses. Horrible time of year for bugs. Hope he's feeling much better soon x
He is getting tall, having to put him in 6-7 trousers now, but the apron has made him look like a long tube! He sobbed hysterically when he thought he was really going to be an elf!
I had a discussion with Bob the other day over this…..he was wearing a top that was far too small, and I said to him I think its about time he stopped wearing it as it was too small…..he said "but it is 3-4 and I fit into 3-4" bless him one day he may grow a bit
Oh bless him, you watch when he hits teenage years!
He's rocking that apron. Such a great natural shot. It's so nice to see the cousins together. My boy loves his cousins too. It's a special bond
It is an incredible bond, very akin to siblings (which is lucky as he doesn't have any, yet hopefully!)
Love the apron shot. We get a lot of the pants situation – sometimes it's books, but it's often Lego or Knex is the big thing this week.
I like K'nex, but The Boy is still at the age of needing help with it.
Love him checking his pockets in his Kingdom of the Elves Uniform! That swing set looks lots of fun!
That's exactly what he was doing! He was trying to work out which one to put the item in.
Such a cute photo of the cousins together on the swing. I hope your sister is doing OK.
Hope The Boy is feeling better too.
She's not too bad, thank you π
The Elf pic is just adorable and I love that he took himself off to read
He loves reading, if ever he's silent, that is what he'll be doing!
That investigation apron looks fantastic! What a fun place to go, I don't think we have anything like that here?! – going to have to check π
Have a wonderful weekend!
I've not seen anything similar apart from here, it was really good fun!
The boy is so handsome. I love the photo of him and his cousin on the swing. Great you all got to go the Bluestone. It sounds fab x
Thanks lovely, I adore his little face! He loves playing with his cousins.
Love the photo of your boys absorbed in their tablets, they do look like peas in a pod; so cute.
Thanks for linking up to Project 365.
I love the elf apron, and the photo of The Boy and his cousin on the swings. #365
They are my favourites too!
I love it when they wear big jumpers – makes them look extra huggable. Hope the bugs stay away from the boy and good luck with the jars π Thinking of you x
It was hanging off his hands, all the better as it acts as gloves then π Thank you lovely.
The Kingdom of Elves experience sounds like it was great fun. The apron is ace too. Bet The Boy had a wonderful time there π
He did, it was two hours long though so quite tiring!
he looks so tall now, he has just morphed in the last few months. such a gorgeous boy.
I know, he's so tall now, in 6-7 trousers already.
Loving that apron pic, so sweet.
At least the Boy kept his pants on, Little miss normally ends up starkers after school!
Love the ciusins on a swing pic too. My monkeys also love their cousins, it's a special friendship that cousins share. x
Oh bless her! Don't blame her though, shaking free the constraints of the day!
The cousins look deep in thought there, hope it gave you some needed adult time x
They were conspiring! Better for them to be outside than stuck in the playroom with electronics, which the other adults were happy for them to do :-/
I often find 7yo reading when I have asked her to go and get changed. Sometimes she is half changed, other times not, it's quite amusing.
I think it's wonderful, isn't it? To have developed that love of books?
Lovely pictures, I bet Bluestone was a lot of fun x #project365
It really was, luckily we had good weather. It's a bit grim when wet.
so many germs going around!! hope he is feeling better now. Loving that apron! xx
Isn't it cute? Bit big at the moment though :-/
Such a fab elf apron – although very funny he thought he was about to become one and wasn't keen! The swings photo is very cool in a slightly disaffected youth kinda way! Hope he's feeling better x
I know what you mean, they do look like yoofs up to no good don't they?
Aw I can see how much he adores his cousin – such a special relationship. Sorry to hear The Boy has been feeling under the weather, so many nasty bugs going round at this time of year π I love the elf apron, even if it didn't confuse The Boy somewhat!
They really do get along so very well, although I still remember the look on their faces when they first saw him and he didn't do very much!
Love his elf costume!
I've got a photo of the whole outfit, once he realised he wasn't going to be an elf then he was happy to wear it.
The apron rally does make him look tall! Hope he's fighting off those germs. Love the half smile photo though, beautiful picture. Thinking of you and your sister xx
Thank you lovely, it's much appreciated.
I can completely understand the elf-fear! Yes, yes to the "hopefully yet" reply you made. Here's hoping. I dislike having to hurry my children up if it means they stop reading too!
x
I could only have hoped that he'd love reading as much as he does, makes me a happy mummy.
my two adore thier cousins too and love it when they all get to play together.
how is your sister doing? Well i hope xx
Lovely photos i like the pants one hee hee and what a lovely elf apron. Burton wasnt himself last week – I hope the boy is much better now x
I know your boys like pants so I'm not surprised you like that one! My sister's doing well, thanks, shattered but positive.
hope you were not in a hurry to go out, but yes it is nice to see them reading and enjoying the worlds this takes them into.
Love the cousin picture, and his face in the apron picture is great.
Does he manage to play guess who without help? Bob struggled with putting down the correct ones at the boys age and needed somebody on his team.
No rush, especially when it comes to him enjoying reading!
i did laugh at him in his pants reading, i have a little guy that does just this! xx
Wow, that apron is huge, great idea though, although can see why it might be a bit traumatic for the children.
Love the swing photo. You always think how big they've got, and then see them against older cousins etc, and realise how far they've still got to go.
Oh bless him for thinking they were really going to turn him into an elf! Love the apron picture and the swings picture this week π
Love how you found him reading π
