Lacock Abbey is a wonderful National Trust place, but definitely somewhere that needs a full day from 9am to explore it. We didn't manage to get around the shops in the idyllic village, because the cloisters and main house are enormous and take some time to explore. However, we did manage to find this enormous tree trunk which had steps carved up the side to allow young adventurers to examine what was inside.
