An after-school treat on our first day of term. School hours were reduced this week due to the NATO summit in Newport, so after his first day in my school we nipped down to the beach and enjoyed a white magnum before attempting to skim stones again.

what flavour was that lolly, can't tell in B&W π Looks like he's enjoying it, we've been licking our way through some late summer ice-creams too!
It was a white magnum, yummiest in the world!
A lovely photo. He is looking very reflective Contemplating school? π #mysundayphoto
Contemplating how to stop the chocolate from falling off.
the beach and ice cream, a perfect match
And a complete must.
What a perfect way to end your first day back! looks yummy π
It definitely was!
What a lovely treat after his first day at school. Lovely photo in B&W it has a more atmospheric feel & you can really see the detail of the lolly melting. I hope you had a lovely afternoon x
#sundayphoto
I like the flecks in his hair as well, black and white does different things to photos, doesn't it?
Beautiful picture and perhaps one of the best things to do by the sea! x
A complete must!
I'm a big fan of black and white. Marvellous image. How frustrating must that hvae been to have the kids go back to school only for them to follow reduced hours???
I'm a teacher in the same school so was more than happy with the reduced hours. However it must have been quite tricky for some parents. Just one of the issues with having the NATO summit nearby.
What a gorgeous photo. He looks so thoughtful.
Nah, he was trying to preserve the broken chocolate covering!
A perfect shot for B&W, relaxing with an ice-cream – one of our favorite pass-times π
It's one of our favourite pass – times too, before we go playing down on the beach.
Lovely photo – he is looking very thoughtful whilst eating his Magnum and gazing out across the sea. Looks great in black and white. Hope the first day back at school went well.
He's very thoughtfully working out how not to drop the chocolate from the ice-cream π
Lovely picture, you are so lucky living near the beach how wonderful to be able to let the sea breeze blow through your hair each day #bwphototproject
I really missed the sea when we lived in Reading, I could only last three years and then had to come home.
What a perfect way to finish off a school day. Love the fact The Boy looks lost in thought.
He is lost in thought; trying to work out how to stop the chocolate from falling off while sucking the rapidly eating ice-cream! I hate it when the magnum is bashed up when you buy it.
Lovely photo, looks like he's enjoying that x
Who doesn't enjoy a white magnum?
A lovely picture, the boy looks deep in thought as he enjoys his lolly x #bwphotoproject
He was trying not to drop any white chocolate from the ice-cream π
That looks a perfect little walk to me. Although it would be the almond magnum for me π
Oh no, no nuts here! White magnum is his absolute favourite, above all others.
Perfect after school treat – ice cream and beach!
And such an easy activity to do for us, much better than coming home to watch the television.
Ice cream looking over the beach out onto the water could it get more fantasy then this? hahah Excellent moment to capture. Such a sweet photo of pure childhood memories. Love it. #sundayphoto
We're very lucky to live so close to the sea that we can just pop down.
Love it. It brilliantly captures that lost in an ice lolly moment. Like the fact that he is getting to an enjoy an ice lolly while stroppy politicians sit in dark rooms discussing dangerous stuff.
It's all about the important things, maybe they should have come down to the beach to skim stones and eat an ice-cream. I bet the issues would have been resolved more easily.
Sounds like a great way to spend the afternoon after school.
One of our favourite ways!
Beautiful photo, I am a big fan of Magnum ice creams especially the nutty one
Thank you for linking up
Oh no, no nuts here. We like the mint ones too.
Perfect ice cream for the seaside, and thank goodness for the summit giving you the opportunity to enjoy this moment π
It is one of the few things I'm grateful to the summit for!
Ice cream at the beach, perfect! x
awww i love this honey .. i am glad he also had a super first day x
Me too, so relieved. Not like I can go back now he's in my own school!
He looks so thoughtful there, off in his own little world (probably dreaming about more ice cream) x
Knowing him that would be about right!!
What a fabulous way to spend the afternoon… making the most of the last days of summer.
Oh now I want a white magnum and I haven't got one π
Enjoy your Sunday
We are very partial to them and usually have a quantity in our freezer as well.
best place to eat an ice cream and how nice to still be able to do at this time of year π
We love ice-cream any time of the year, the only issue in Winter is whether or not the kiosk is open!
A genius way to end the first day of term! He looks so serene looking out into the water.
He does indeed doesn't he? He was too busy trying to stop the chocolate from falling to be noticing anything else
Aww! How adorable! What a lovely photo and a fab treat x
We're very lucky to have it so close by that we can nip down when we want.
What a gorgeous capture, and I bet that lolly was enjoyed rightly! x
Ah the sea and an ice cream a perfect recipe! #mysundayphoto
Stunning shot, love how natural it is and how contemplative he is-just beautiful!
Thank you, these moments are the little ones that are special and mean so much.
What a great way to finish his first day! Beautiful shot.
I really miss living by the sea… *sigh* Such a great shot, and what a good way to end his first day! π
