222. Uuuuuh-teeennnnn-TION (After a hellish journey up from Cornwall and an unsettled night in a very hot Premier Inn, we headed to London for a day out courtesy of 'Ripley's Believe It or Not'. We spent two hours in Hamley's before it opened, had lunch at Planet Hollywood, and then had a guided tour of 'Ripley's'. It was a lovely day, but dear God we were shattered when we got home at 8pm.)
223. Loom (I swore these little blighters would never make it into my house, but when a friend told me about her cousin's terminally ill son who wants to make a loom band which could reach to the moon, I found my resolve dissolving. We managed 14 feet in two days.)
224. Aviator Glasses (My mum and I took the children to see 'Planes 2' in 3D, which was brilliant fun. It's the second time that The Boy has seen a 3D film and I love seeing his reaction to things 'flying' towards him.)
225. Gobstopper (A quiet afternoon playing in the garden; picking blackberries and eating sweeties in the den.)
226. Four Eyebrows (We've been really lazy in the mornings, playing on the iPad and having cuddles. That's what the Summer holidays are for after all!)
227.Β Double-bounce(Today was one of those days where everything seemed to take forever, and all of a sudden it's tea-time and I feel like I've barely spent any time with The Boy! As a result, we picked up The Boy from my parents' house and took him straight down the beach for some pebble-plopping. We all collected a load of flat stones for skimming, and The Boy managed to get one of them to bounce twice. He was over the moon that he'd managed to skim, although looking at the amount of pebbles on the shoreline I think it reverberated off one of those; but I wasn't telling him that!)
228. Buoyancy (I always wanted The Boy to be introduced to swimming early on; we live near the sea and I feel it's important that children are confident enough near water to stand a fighting chance if they have an accident. However, The Boy suffers incredibly with ear infections and glue ears and so he can't go swimming in the Winter months as it exacerbates the problem. Today he went for a really fun swim with Mr. TBaM and showed how much more confident he is now, face under the water and everything!)

Sounds like an exhausting day in London, but a lovely photo! Love the photo after he skimmed his stone. We've just got back from a week in Padstow and my 10yo son was skimming stones constantly, he never tires of it!
BTW we called into Coombe Mill and were having a good look at their Instagram – saw a video of the train with The Boy on the back. My daughter noticed him above all the other kids because she said he was 'funny' (in a nice way, of course!).
What a lovely thing to hear, thank you. He loves Coombe Mill, it's like our second home. I also love Padstow, the last time we went I intended for us to go over to the beach part but it was too hot and I was grumpy.
I hope your day in London was as fab as it sounds! Belated Birthday wishes for that day. I especially love the photo on the beach. Linked up and will comment on others whilst on hols this week!
Those Hotter shoes are gorgeous, I was sorely tempted by them when I went on a blogger evening recently. Thanks for linking up to Project 365.
Lazy mornings are what the summer is all about *she says lying in bed*! I used to love trying to skim stones so well done to the little man for his*ahem* double bouncer π
Wonderful pictures this week..he looks so pleased with himself swimming.
It was a wonderful day out last weekend and was great to meet you – you must have been so tired, I was and we only have a short journey into london
I LOVE that swimming shot, he's totally soaking. Pearls of water. Shinny light reflections on the tiles. Happy days! My girls have repetitively said the very best things in their days are swimming. And we don't go even nearly enough!! Gotta get there before I'm off working again!
I like the swimming shot as well; pure glee. It was a completely stealth shot as there is no photography allowed at all poolside!
London sounds like fun but yes very exhausting. You are very lucky to be able to pop to the beach at the end of the day, we are in Wales this week and I am looking forward to bring able to do that. Such a shame about the swimming but he looks like he enjoyed himself there.
It is fun to go to London, but it's such a trek! Hope you enjoy your week in Wales and the weather behaves for you.
That journey from Cornwall to London sounds exhausting with a full on day in London and then back to Wales. Sounds like you needed some chill time after that.
The picture on the beach is just wonderful, what a great way to end the day. Hope you had a great time in London.
A busy week, hope you have some time to recover post holidays and outings now. Love the beach picture best.
I love the beach photo especially because I love to compare how he changes every time I see him there. this one is an especially nice photo because of the clouds (and the boy, obviously)
I love how you seem to be constantly doing things with the boy. I'm exhausted just reading about what you get up to!! x
I'd be shattered after that day in London as well. Still sounds like a lot of fun.
Sounds like you had an exhausting but fabulous day in London, I bet The Boy had great fun. I'm loving the pebble skimming picture on the beach, the clouds are fabulous! The swimming picture is great too, The Boy looks very happy. x
so happy to see the boy swimming π mr TBaM was telling me about his growing confidence in the sea so its good to take advantage of that and get swiming, Lessons next then! and how did you manage to take a pic? we are not allowed at our pool which winds me up! and he looks like loved it too judging by his face π
we have never been to see a 3D film maybe i should though (i have btw i meant not the boys) as i bet watching them would be funny too.
great photos – the beach one and the one of him next to the LEGO statues are lovely of him too x
awww honey that double bounce picture is totally stunning π .. my days seem to fly like that every day π
The skimming stones picture is fantastic! I love the colours and how proud he looks. We are still going with our loom band, which has become my job, I have to admit I find it so relaxing to do x
Ah I might have to admit that I finished it off as well, he'd place the bands on but find the hooking a bit tricky.
Hope you had a lovely time in London? hopefully that makes the long journey home worthwhile. I love the look of concentration on the boys face using the ipad π the skimming stones is fab, great colours x
shame your hotel room was too hot, I hate that as it makes for no sleep and grumpy next day, how nice to get 2 hours before the shop opened.
We had that problem with swimming as well but it is an important skill that one day may save their life.
Some days do disappear quickly.
They'd emailed me in the week to say that they were working on the aircon and I'd replied letting them know that I had a medical condition which means that I'm always hot and need working aircon, they'd assured me it would be. I was less than impressed that on my birthday I had 3 hours sleep.
Looks like a lovely week and as ever stunning pictures. I love the skimming, wow how fantastic. It's on our list for when we go to Hayling Island at the end of the month. #Project365
Glad he's getting confidence in his swimming.
Love the lego photo and the beach one. SO jealous you can nip down when you want.
We are incredibly lucky!
Putting your face under water is a massive thing in my book as I'm such a bad swimmer and hate doing that. Well done on the 14 feet. That's so long!! I need to loom too!
Thank you, I was so proud of him for doing that. I get a real attack of claustrophobia when that happens to me.
Isn't it the best thing ever to have Hamleys to yourself before the crowds descend. I know I appreciated it far more than Monkey when we did it!
It was amazing, I absolutely couldn't have cope with it with hundreds of other people in there. It did lack a little of the sparkle though.
14 feet in two days?! Amazing! Well done. I love that picture at the top of The Boy at Hamleys – sounds like an exhausting trip though. Wow. Well done to The Boy on his progress at swimming. Getting your face in the water is the hardest bit I think, I'm still not keen!
I'm absolutely petrified of it so am very proud of him. And yes, it was an exhausting day!
Love the Boy's face in the London photo – he is absolutely beaming! Sounds like you've been getting a lot of chill-out time, which I think is really needed in the summer holidays.
Definitely needed to recuperate from the stresses of the academics!
That beach photo is just stunning. Love it!
Thanks, we do love spending time on the beach.
Your day in London sounds fab! The Boy looks so excited with the Lego figures! And well done to him for putting his face under water in the swimming pool π That is such a big step!
Knowing how scared I am of it, I'm really proud of him for doing so.
That photo at the beach is absolutely stunning, and The Boy looks so thrilled π Love his expression in the last photo and the cheeky face peering round the edge of the tent x
He was so thrilled, I didn't have the heart to tell him that it hadn't really skimmed.
Sounds like you needed a few lazy days after the London experience! Love the swimming face! He looks so pleased with himself π
Such fantastic pictures as always. Love the boy having so much fun x
Love love love Day 227 it's so flipping amazing. Both the girls have swimming lessons and they have got so confident lately and it's a great and important thing to learn.
Love day 227 photo. And 3D movies are strange but cool!
The day in London sounds fun!
I love that beach picture.
I keep thinking I should teach the girls to swim..but I cant swim myself!
What a great week! The Double-Bounce photo is stunning!
