61. From Where We Stand (We went to explore a new area of the coastline today, one I last went to around 23 years ago with my dad. However, this went to show that time is kind on memories because I don't remember it being such a pain to get down to, or it being quite so dirty with dog mess or general rubbish. We found an awesome ammonite fossil, but we won't be returning to that beach again.)
62. Contemplative (The Boy was shattered after school but I was blowed if we were staying in on such a nice afternoon! So off I dragged him to the clifftop park.)
63. Hello Gorgeous (I have always wanted a crotchetted blanket for The Boy, it's such a traditional item for a childhood and perfect for snuggling under when watching television or reading a book. Unlike all the other bloggers in the world at the moment, I have no idea how to make one. I do however follow an immensely talented lady called 'Hello Gorgeous' on Instagram who agreed to make one for The Boy. It arrived today and he was over the moon with it! )
64. Bookworm (Shattered after a long old day in work, I curled up on the sofa ready to collapse. The Boy picked up a book for his Tidy Books bookbox and came to sit with me. We looked through the pictures together but then he decided that he wanted to read the text by himself. So he did. Because he's four and is learning how to read. I'm so proud of him.)
65. Carefully Does It (We had a delayed Pancake Day due to Tuesday being a chockablock day which ended late. The Boy was determined to help me make his pancake so I tasked him with chopping the ham.)
66. Three Cousins and a Friend (The Boy went on a wonderful trip to the farm today and was physically drained after school. However, I plied him with milk and a sugary doughnut as he needed to go to a friend's birthday party in softplay from 4-6pm! Unfortunately, the poor girl came down with the nasty virus 'slapped cheek' and had to go to the doctor's during her own party so missed it. I'm hoping that The Boy doesn't contract it. On the way home, we called into his cousins' house where we all decided that 6.30pm wasn't too late to play outside. And the best bit was that it wasn't; it was still light!)
67. I'm Busy! (I love the eclectness of The Boy's ensemble here: hood up because it was windy, sunglasses on, one glove because we couldn't find the other, soaking trousers from jumping into his 'swimming pool'. Ahhh, the first trip to Barry Island of the season.)

Awesome fossil, but always a shame when the beach is dirty and unloved π
The boy is totally rocking the eclectic beachwear look!
Great photos.. love the fossil π
What a shame it was a dirty beach. Lovely blanket and coat x
Some lovely sunshine this week
Love the first and last photos, and I like the feet π That blanket looks lovely and cosy x
Loving the last photo especially! Shame the beach wasn't as you remembered it! Great photo's as usual x
Love the ammonite fossil – I am desperate to get to West Bay or Burton bradstock but am worried about cliff falls. The "I'm busy" pic is just fab…..prelude to the teenage years lol
Great photo of you all around the fossil. Something on our list of things to do this year is go somewhere to look for fossils. Love the gloves and sunglasses! π
Love that blanket. So nice to have one to snuggle under.
Such a shame about the beach, great fossil though! Love that last photo of The Boy in his sunnies, POD likes to wear hers too π
Absolutely love the fossil it is huge! Just a shame it wasn't a nice beach. Love the picture of the boy chopping ham as well, looks like you had a great week!
Love the blanket, would be great to be talented enough to make one. Also love The Boy snuggled up on the sofa doing some solo reading π x
It's sad the beach wasn't the same as you remember, but that fossil is stunning, it's massive! Loving the wellies
Wow that fossil is amazing, my boys would love that! That blanket is really beautiful.
Beautiful photos as ever. That blanket is so lovely. That poor girl missing part of her own party!
maybe the beach is didtier and has more rubbish, people have changed over the years and feel it is acceptable. I dont ever remember dog mess everywhere when we were kids and people must of had dogs.
Double standards – the boy is shattered after schoolbut you (rightly) drag him out to have fun in the sun, you come home tired and snuggle under a blanket and have stories read to you.
Love the beach look…different

pretty blanket and perfect for snuggles. (i cannot crochet or knit myself)
the first pic is great – all the pairs of wellies surrounding the fossil. Funny how memories can be so easily tarnished though
isnt it lovely how our boys are reading independantly and have such a zest for learning to read – makes me proud too x
Wow I can't believe he's reading all by himself. It's such a big step isn't it? Well done to him. I think I'll cry when z does this π
Oh my goodness that fossil is amazing! i love the shot of the boy digging, he looks so grown up!
Very impressed with that fossil, and I like how The Boy is poking his finger through that blanket! And well done to him on reading his book – it's wonderful to watch them learning like that π
Loving the blanket!!! The fossil is amazing too. xx
Gorgeous ammonite! I couldn't agree more about the outfit – what a hoot. Lovely blanket – reading snuggles ahoy
Ha. I'm a blogger who failed at crochet! Love the ammonite but what a pity the beach spoilt it.
I'm loving that blanket. I too have NO idea how to crochet.
Busy week for you and the boy. I'm so jealous of your beach trips (dog mess aside) but worth the trip for that fossil find. Liking inlinkz btw x
Yep, that beachwear may be untraditional but he's totally rocking it. If it makes you feel any better, I am the only other person on the www who can't crochet. The new link tool is looking good at this point
you really have got quite the bookworm on your hands, 4 and reading, well done boy!
I haven't the foggiest how to crochet either!
I love the beach shot – he looks so happy. I really wish we lived nearer to the coast sometimes, Arthur has only been to the seaside about three times in his life π
I love all the footwear pics, I have a huge canvas of us all in wellies too! xx
Love the crochet blanket π
Loving that first fossil photo, I can't crochet either and we also delayed pancake day!
Just wonderful shots of your week with the boy. Even if the beach was a downer what an amazing fossil! The blanket looks so snuggly too. Nothing better than sitting quietly with one's young one reading a book.
I do love the feet shots.
Lovely photos hun, sorry to hear about the messy beach, always ruins beautiful memories doesnt it? I hope The Boy's friend is well soon. x
Ooh a fossil how cool. Loving these pictures x
His blanket is gorgeous. I can't crochet either but my sister can. It's amazing how colourful they can make them. Lots of lovely outdoor photos. Love the last one!
Love the last photo – I love how all kids seem to adore digging themselves a good hole! Classic beach activity! (Great outfit too π )
Sorry the reality didn't live up to your memories! And that the little girl missed her own party – how sad for her!
Love the blanket and the slightly cobbled together garden fashion!
That huge fossil was an awesome find!
Love the new cuddle blanket, I love your outdoor photos they really are great as usual x
Feet! Love the FWIS photos. π Looks like a chilly but fun week. π
I love the picture of him reading and with his new blanket which looks so cozy to snuggle under π
I love how the week begins with wellies and ends with sunglasses at the beach!
That fossil is really awesome, but shame about the beach. Mich x
He is growing up so much! I love the last photo of him on the beach – fingers crossed he doesn't catch the virus.
A real fossil! How fantastic!
Isn't it awful that dog owners fail to pick up after their animals. At least we have other beaches to go to!
Love the shot of The Boy reading.
That's a great fossil find! Such a shame about the mess though. As a dog owner people leaving their dog's mess is a major bugbear of mine. I wish owners would just pick it up!
I love that last beach digging picture too, beaches are awesome!
That blanket is lovely too, I wish I was good at things like this! x
Always love to see children enjoying books.
Oh loving the fossil! And that blanket looks fab too!
He looks so awesome in the final photo, reminds me of what Aly is like, she'll wear a t shirt with hat and gloves.
Fossil is awesome, love all the boots around it! That blanket is gorgeous and I adore his beach ensemble!
