Entertainment Shows At Butlin's 2014 (Review)

I'm going to be honest.

The word 'Butlin's' seems to bring about a reaction in most people akin to 'marmite'; you either love it or hate it. In Butlin's case it seems that people have a stereotypical image of the type of holiday that they will have, yet when they actually experience what the Redcoats have to offer very few continue to have the image of knobbly knee competitions, Hi-de-Hi style entertainers and dodgy chalets with pencil thin walls and lino floors.

And I think one of the aspects of Butlin's which astounds people and leaves them wanting more is the entertainment.

Circus Skills With The Skyline Gang (Review)

There is such an abundance of activities and shows taking place during a stay at Butlin's that no-one could ever claim they couldn't find something to do! Sports clubs, outdoor games, funfair rides, soft-play, swimming, indoor funfair, bowling, a pool hall, shows for all ages and all tastes, the list goes on an on.

However, there are a few activities which take place which are quite easy to miss; the crafting sessions are one, and the other is a circus skills lesson with The Skyline Gang.

The Hotels At Butlin's, Bognor Regis (Review)

Part of the reason why I'm so keen to continue returning to the Butlin's at Bognor Regis is because it is the only one of the three resorts which has hotels. I like the luxury of the hotels, and when I'm on an energetic holiday like this I like to feel a bit pampered, not having to worry about the housekeeping side of things. Add the dining package into the mix, and the holiday couldn't get much easier.

Family Camping With Aldi (Review)

I don't do camping. Just like I don't do the dishes.

Anyone who knows me, knows this.

There needs to be a bed, a toilet, a shower, a mirror, a floor! I like walls, windows, doors, etc. and the thought of camping scares me quite a bit. However, I have a small child and, while he has never mentioned camping, I knew it was only a matter of time before the concept of sleeping in a tent raised its head.

So when Aldi challenged me to try camping and offered to send me some equipment to fulfill this task, I decided to bite the bullet.

Orchard Toys: Football Game (Review & Giveaway)

There comes a time in a child's life when it's a good idea to start introducing them to positive current affairs, to show they that there's a wider world beyond their little cocoon. A sporting event like the Olympics is always a good way to start, as it shows healthy competition and promotes exercise. This year there are two major sporting events which are perfect to ignite children's interest; the Commonwealth games, and the FIFA World Cup.

Orchard Toys have recognised the popularity and have produced the fabulous Football Game to encourage this.

Father's Day Gifts

We're coming up to five years of celebrating Father's Day for Mr. TBaM and, just as every single day he's a daddy is magical, it is wonderful to have one day of acknowledging how important he is to The Boy and quite frankly just how damn good he is at it.

I must confess though that we're now getting to the point where there's only so many photo mugs he can have. We need a little bit of something different this year, and so I have a little round-up of some fabulous gift ideas.

Eye-Fi Mobi Wireless Memory Card (Review)

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love taking photographs. I always have. I was that friend down the pub with the camera, I am that mum at children's parties who captures the candle-blowing moment allowing parents to concentrate and enjoy the look on their child's face. I truly believe in capturing a moment to help people remember. Over the past three and a half years I have taken at least one photograph every day as a part of Project 365, and while very occasionally it is irritating to do so, I look back fondly at every photograph and can instantly remember the feelings, laughter, and happiness.

My two favourite photography 'tools' are my dSLR and Instagram. I love Instagram and follow a diverse selection of people from all over the world. My own personal feed is as eclectic in content as those that I follow, and thanks to cloud technology I've been able to upload my dSLR photographs to the laptop and then share them via Dropbox on my phone. It is however, a real faff!

Not anymore though, because I've been sent something which is going to make life a lot easier: a wireless SD card!

Bank Holiday Treats (Review)

Bank Holidays are a tradition in Britain, which usually involves an awful lot of praying to the weather gods for no rain, and possibly even a few hours of sunshine.

More importantly, it provides families the chance to have an extended period of time together; a precious extra twenty-four hours where homework, and ironing the school uniform, and packed lunches can be forgotten about for just one more day. Where Sunday night doesn't bring groans, sighs and tantrums.

And one of the best parts of the whole thing? Is the food.
