Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Fire Blastin' Dusty Crophopper (Review)

The Boy has recently discovered the wonder of Disney films which has made Saturday night movie night a lot easier! It all started earlier this year when we went to see Planes: Fire and Rescue in the cinema; he was completely captivated with Dusty Crophopper and Blade Ranger racing up and down Piston Peak.

A month or so ago we were sent the absolutely marvellous Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Fire Blastin' Dusty Crophopper which is one of his favourite toys at the moment. This isn't just an ordinary character plane, the Fire Blastin' Dusty sucks up 'water' balls and with the flick of a switch fires them out at the flame targets.

Kingdom of The Elves at Bluestone, Wales

Family time over Christmas is so important, and with time being such a precious commodity in modern life it can be hard to fit in the special events and occasions which make memories.

We were recently invited to spend a weekend at Bluestone National Park Resort in west Wales in order to enjoy their Christmas extravaganza of the Kingdom of the Elves, and it was without a doubt the perfect thing to start off our celebrations over the festive season.

Debenhams Christmas Flowers

Every woman loves receiving flowers, and particularly during the Winter months when foliage, flowers and colours are seriously lacking in the natural environment. November is also my anniversary month and my husband is very good at buying me a bouquet of the flowers that were in my wedding bouquet.

When I was recently invited to receive flower delivery from the Debenhams collection, I knew instantly that I'd be choosing the Designer Spirit bouquet which contains white roses, spiky chrysanthemums, berries, lillies and silver sprayed ferns.

Paddington Bear & Marmalade Sandwiches

A few months ago we went to the cinema to watch a film and The Boy was captivated. Not be the film, I can't even remember what it was now, but by the trailer for the Paddington Bear movie which is released today. I'm not sure if it was the moment when Paddington used a toothbrush as an ear cleaner, or when he surfed the bathtub down a torrent of water down the staircase.

Hot Wheels Super Loop Chase Race (Review)

The Boy is a huge fan of cars, particularly the collection of Hot Wheels walltracks sets that he's collected over the past couple of years. He particularly likes that he can stand and play with the walltracks sets as opposed to lying on the floor, and it makes racing the cars a lot easier. Wall-mounted tracks are also space-saving and don't take up valuable floor space!

We've been sent the latest addition to the Walltracks collection; the Hot Wheels Super Loop Chase Race set, and of course The Boy couldn't wait to get it attached to the wall and start playing with it.

Christmas from Yankee Candle (Review)

I'm becoming very excited for Christmas; creating the right atmosphere in the house with lights, decorations and fragrances really adds to the magical time. I've been sent a few items from Yankee Candle recently which are going to help fill the house with the scents of the season; vanilla, cinnamon, apple, gingerbread, nutmeg, marshmallow, cookies and cranberries.

Christmas Story Books (Review)

One the first day of December I change over every one of The Boy's reading books in his downstairs bookshelf for a Christmas book; over the years we've amassed a fair few! New books are wrapped up and tokens to receive them are placed in his home-made advent calendar, he manages to have a new Christmas book once or twice a week leading up to Christmas Day. This year is no exception and some of those new books are listed below.

"The Spirit of Christmas" by Nicky Benson (Book Review)

Christmas storybooks are a magical thing that help build the excitement of the season, exploring the world of Father Christmas and the elves in a way that children can't really witness. That magical moment when Father Christmas descends down chimneys all over the world, spreading love and happiness, is one that books and films can help to recreate, but it's not something that children can experience in reality.

I'm always keen to fill the house with quality storybooks at Christmas, books that help to build the warm glow inside. And just as 'The Polar Express' is the perfect film for this, I've now found the perfect book.

Autumn's Yankee Candle Collection

Autumn is my favourite season of the year for all the rich colours on the trees, the marvellous treasures we can find in nature and the crispness of the air. It's a wonderous time of year as children start to understand the way that fruit and vegetables ripen, and can see and taste the fruits of their labour.

Yankee Candles have tapped into that as they have produced a fruity range of candles which perfectly reflect the spicey aromas associated with Harvest and Autumn; Cinnamon Appleberry, Grapevine & Oak, Pomegranate Cider, Harvest, and Apple Pumpkin.

Autumn Yankee Candles

We've been sent the absolutely glorious 'Harvest' to review and it is my new favourite scented candle I own. At the moment, I actually haven't lit it because the fragrance is wonderful as it is!

Autumn scented candle

It is an incredibly rich scent with golden hues of Autumn; cinnamon, cloves and musk combine with a hint of sweet apples and pumpkins to really fill the air deliciously. And with 110-150 burn hours, the smell is sure to last all season; that's if you can bear to light it!

The Harvest Yankee Candle is available from high street stores and through the website directly, priced at £19.99 for the large jar candle.

I was sent this product for the purpose of this review, my opinion is honest and unbiased.
