I've recently come to realise that bunting is an easy way to decorate a room for a special occasion, and with an abundance of card and craft materials, plus a willing and able assistant, it's a fun and easy craft activity to do together.

A New Room (Sponsored Post)
After school this evening I rolled out The Boy's play rug on the patio and handed him his pot of toy cars and box of Playmobil people.
Easter Bento Lunchbox
It never fails to astound me how much The Boy responds to his lunch being presented in a fun way; using a few food picks with cute characters on the top of a bunch of grapes, or a sandwich cutter to transform even the most basic ham sandwich, makes lunch more exciting to a four year old child!
LolliBop 2014 – New Venue
One of the highlights of our Summers for the past two years has been going to the LolliBop children's festival in London. With the vast majority of the best quality children's television personalities appearing on one of the many stages, activities galore for every age and interest, and a wonderfully happy atmosphere, it is the pinnacle of our Summer days out.
LolliBop has announced a new home for the festival on 15th-17th August 2014; the majestic and fairy-like stately home Hatfield House.

Family Days Out 'Wishlist' – 2014
Last year we were lucky enough to be given a media pass for the National Trust, in conjunction with my blog promotion for their 50 Things To Do Before You're 11 & ¾ campaign. When it ran out at the end of the year, we rushed to buy our family membership as it provided us with a plethora of opportunities for days out as a family, exploring nature, the nation's history, and having fun in their beautifully landscaped outdoors!
I've been having a look recently for National Trust places within an hour or so of us, and I decided that I'd create a 'wishlist' for the places I'd like us to explore this year, both National Trust, or otherwise. [Read more…]
Four 'Eggcellent' Easter Crafts & Activities
It’s official; Easter is just around the corner and the web is awash with brilliant children crafting and home-made game ideas for you to try over the holidays.
Here’s a round-up of favourites for you to try yourself:
Cardboard toilet roll bunnies
There are always fun ways to use an empty toilet roll tube, and cute toilet roll bunnies are a great way to craft and recycle at the same time. All you need is some pastel paints, PVA glue, a marker pen (for the face), some googly eyes (for fun stick-on eyes), and wooden lolly pop sticks (for the ears). [Read more…]
Vodka Cocktails With Sodastream
We all know how hard working mothers are, and while we know that all of their efforts are appreciated it's still important to let them know this. That's why days like Mother's Day are so important! Even though the 21st Century version has evolved from the origins of Mothering Sunday when people revisited their 'mother' church on Laetare Sunday, to it becoming a day when domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mother church, usually with their own mothers and other family members, I think that it's important to have one day a year to spoil the special mother figure in our lives.
With Sodastream's help, I'm bringing you a range of vodka cocktail recipes for mums to relax with after 'the bedtime hour'.
