Frog Friends (Recycled Bottle Craft)

We went to a wonderful craft session today where we learnt how to reuse items from the recyling bin for great craft ideas. My inner eco-warrior recycles as much as possible, but reusing and repurposing in the first place is an even better use of resources. And it's so much more fun!

We used the ends of two water bottles to make this quick and easy Frog Friend.

Sunday 18th January 2015

I have a new hobby!

For quite some time now I've fancied having a go at making a crocheted blanket, and had the idea to make it for my sister to cheer her up and keep her warm during her chemotherapy. However, I've not managed to get around to it because I've thought it harder than it is. Yesterday (the first day of her treatment), I decided to peruse YouTube for some tutorials. After a while I managed to find a good selection and it's fair to say that I'm not 'hooked'.

Family Breaks in The Royal Garden Hotel, London (Review)

The Boy adores going to London, he thinks it's a really special place to visit because of the variety of things we get to do. We usually visit in the Summer and spend time wandering through the parks and enjoying the great outdoors. I had been eager for quite some time to visit London at Christmas time so we could see the lights and the wonderful shop displays.

A few weeks before Christmas, this was made possible when we were invited to stay at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington for the weekend. I have to say it is quite possibly one of the most luxurious, and child-friendly, hotels I've stayed in with one of the most amazing views over London.

Stay Safe While Surfing Online With A Password Manager

As a busy parent, you instantly recognise the value of little-known time savers. For instance, the more efficiently you can handle your online work, whether it is simply logging into your email account, chatting with your friends on social media, or running an online business – the more time you will have with your family.

One simple way of staying efficient online is to reduce the time it takes to log in and out of various websites while not compromising safety. Fortunately, there is an app called a password manager that allows you to handle usernames and passwords with ease.

The Best Of Project 365 – 2014

I have completed the 365 Project for the past four years; taking a photo a day, every day, for an entire year.

Only I couldn't stop!

The photography project is so compelling for me because I enjoy looking back to see the things that we've been up to during the year. It's so easy to forget about all the lovely days out to the beach, weekend breaks to our favourite places and fun holidaying in our home-from-home, and that's why I keep taking part in Project 365.

I set a challenge to the other participants to identify 12 favourites photos from the year. How hard can it be to choose one favourite photo from each month during the year though? Out of 365 posts?

The answer is very difficult indeed!

Project 365 - Best of 2014

Top row: January – Feeding the swans at the nature reserve; February – A holiday at Coombe Mill

March – Sunglasses & Winter coat at the beach; April – Bare legs at a different beach!

May – Back to the nature reserve; June –  Birthday cake time;

July – Penguins in Folly Farm; August – Sandcastles at another beach;

September – Tree-hugging at the National Trust's Dyrham Park; October – Pumpkin harvesting;

November – Just hanging about with the cousin; December – Peppa Pig World finally!

If you completed Project 365 in 2014, I'd love it if you could create a round-up post of you favourite photographs and share them in the linky below. It will be open from midnight Tuesday 13th January until Friday 16th January at midnight.
