365 #29

Welcome to 365 Photo A Day Project linky. This linky covers round-up posts for the week or one of your favourite photos of the week. I've written a post providing tips for completing the project, always ask one of the regulars for help if you're stuck.

The 365 linky only works because of people linking to it and then contributing their thoughts to others' posts via comments. I can't emphasise this enough, it's the whole point of the linky!

Join in by entering the URL of your favourite photograph of the week (either a 52 or a 365 photo) and show some comment love to everyone else in the community. We've got a Facebook group, and now I've created a collaborative Pinterest board (if you'd like to collaborate, let me know and I'll add you).

  1. Choose your favourite photo from the past week and link it up below.
  2. Please add the badge to your linked-up post so that other people know how to find all the other fabulous entries.
  3. If you can spare five minutes to comment on a few other entries I know they'd appreciate it!

CONGRATULATIONS! 200 DAYS DONE, ONLY 165 LEFT TO GO!

The End Of Reception

When I started this blog, the idea of writing a post reviewing my son's first year of primary school would have not crossed my mind. I was too busy enjoying playing with a toddler, exploring toys which didn't go in his mouth straight away, and helping him to develop his growing vocabulary of 50 words, to contemplate his reading age or attendance figures. Don't get me started on the attendance figures!*

However, today was The Boy's last day of Reception, and I find myself in an appropriately reflective mood.

How To Make A Teacher's Thank You Card (Using Tagxedo)

As a teacher, I have always preferred a handmade card from a child as it feels more personal and I like the effort that goes into it. As a parent to a school-aged child, I was determined that we'd be making his teachers cards for Christmas and at the end of the year, and following a recent gem-sharing session in a staff meeting, I decided that we'd create his end of year card using my latest find.

Bento Lunches With The Yumbox Lunchbox (Review)

Those who follow my Instagram feed will know what a big fan I am of making creative lunches for The Boy. I have a wide range of lunchboxes, cutters, silicon pots, picks etc. to create fun lunches which engage him and ensure he eats everything up at lunchtime. While this seems to fit in with the Bento lunch philosophy, I tend to give him fairly normal food in comparison to the usual Bento foodstuffs; sandwiches, fruit, savoury snacks and sweet treats that other parents put in lunches. I do believe it's all in the presentation though so make an effort to make it enticing for him.

After all, the top chefs do swirly patterns on plates for a reason, don't they?
