Now You Are Three…
While I have tried to remain in denial about The Boy's third birthday, it's impossible. Sometimes the only thing we can be sure of in this life is that time will pass, and our babies will turn into children and people in their own right.
I am inordinately proud of my little boy: he is a friendly and happy little boy who wants to chat to everyone, he loves playing with his friends and family, loves making craft items and baking, is never happier than when he's building a sandcastle or jumping up and down in muddly puddles. This little individual being is kind and considerate, loving and caring, quiet and cheeky. He's not a boisterous boy, he's not a rough and tumble, fighting and climbing boy, but he is curious and insightful, wanting to learn about the world around him in a cautious but determined manner.
He says 'gyurls' for girls and 'wyurld' for world, and 'you were being confused'. He has a beautiful singing voice and makes songs up, mixing together theme tunes deliberately. When 'groovy moves' or 'I am a shape' come on the television, he insists that I stop what I'm doing and go and dance straight away; he never stands still for 'freeze' but checks everyone else is.
He insists on doing stand-up wees and refuses to let daddy help him, apart from to pass him a piece of tissue. He hates sitting in his booster chair seat, declaring he 'wants to be a big boy' but wants to be carried like a baby out of the bathroom wrapped in his towel while daddy sings 'rock a bye baby'.
Every morning since he could walk, he rushes in to wake me up and feeling him in my arms first thing every morning is the most amazing, awe-inspiring, serene and natural thing in the entire world.
Happy birthday my darling, precious boy.

Argos & Chad Valley Clothing (Review)
We were recently asked if we'd like to review some clothing for The Boy. As the request came from Argos, I was more than a little surprised. They are someone I'd consider buying homeware, toys or electricals from but never clothing, and that's mainly to do with the fact that I didn't know that they did it!
The choice available was from the Argos own-brand, the new Emma Bunton range or the Chad Valley range of clothing. Chad Valley is a range that I knew from it's previous exclusivity at Woolworths (a shop that I really miss on the high street) and I was ignorant to the fact that Argos had taken over that exclusivity for both the toys and clothing lines. The clothing available is good solid, rough and tumble clothes, perfect for boys exploring their world.
I chose two items for The Boy; a red hooded cardigan from the Chad Vallery line ('perfect for those balmy Summer evenings' was my original thought. Ha!) and a pair of Peppa Pig brushed cotton pyjamas, featuring his little brother George, from the Argos own-brand range.
The George Pig pyjamas are his absolute favourite, not only because of the pattern and character subtley appliqued on them, but because they are soft and warm. Those are perfect for these freezing 'balmy' Summer evenings. They cost £12.99 and are available from ages 18months through to 5 years. I will be buying these in the next size up because they are such good value.
The red hooded cardigan is warm and a lovely colours. He loves the colour red and is more than happy to be snuggly warm inside this. The only thing I would say about it is the size of the hood. The Boy has a got a slightly larger head than other children his age (lots of brains!) but this hood only seems to come halfway over his head barely covering his ears. Fine for most children, but not for The Boy. It's available from 12 months to 5 years and is £9.99.
We were sent these products for the purpose of this review. Our opinions are honest and unbiased.

Saturday 9th June 2012 – 'In The Distance' (161/366)
Today was the last day of our holiday. Having travelled from Devon to Dorset yesterday afternoon, we spent the day in one of my favourite places: Bridport. I always know when we're almost there on the winding country road because to my left I can see that hill with the small copse of trees. Today we wandered around the market stalls of Bridport and as I rounded the corner onto West Street, I saw the hill in the distance. With the bunting flying, it was a wonderful sight.
Friday 8th June 2012 – 'Beach Bouncing' (160/366)
Thursday 7th June 2012 – 'Skyline' (159/366)
We were going to go to Plymouth Aquarium today because of the rain. So we drove for an hour in the pouring rain. We queued for half an hour for the car park, then were told there was a further half an hour wait to have a space, before being told that there was an hour queue to get into the Aquarium.
So we decided to go on the Wheel of Plymouth instead. As we parked, the sun emerged and the rain stopped. We had a pleasant, albeit windy, stroll up to the 'Eye' only to be told that it was near closure due to strong winds. We could go on if we wanted, but the carriages were swaying severely and I could feel travel sickness coming on at the mere thought of it.
We went to Pizza Express instead.
