Days 1 & 2 of Project 365

Well, that's a surprise isn't it?

When I posted my last 365 photo on Sunday 26th April, I stated that I just couldn't bear to do it anymore. Life had become far too stressful as a school inspection announcement on top of my dad's lung cancer and sister's breast cancer just became too much to deal with; I couldn't see a way out of the stress and 365 was the one thing that I could control to remove as a contributory factor.

I thought I'd never do it again, but it seems that I have missed it far too much. Six weeks without daily photos has mostly been a God-send, but by and large I've missed it. I've missed capturing the little moments that make up the wonders of life.

I thought I might venture back at the start of the school holidays, but actually the end of school inspection coincided with The Boy's sixth birthday, so it seemed a perfect 'Day One' photo.

Interview With A Six Year Old

Today is my funny, wonderful little boy's sixth birthday and last night I sat him down in the garden to ask him the same set of questions I've asked him for the past four birthdays. Created by Emma from A Matter of Choice in 2012, the questions never change and it's really interesting to see his little personality develop.

I do wonder if cheesy ham pasta will ever disappear from the list, although I hope Oliver doesn't and I'm a little sad to see Peppa Pig has finally lost her appeal. New additions are Coombe Mill and a crisp sandwich, cheese and onion if you don't mind. I think most of all I'm chuffed that I'm still his best friend.

Beach Craft: Driftwood Windchime

We're incredibly fortunate to live on the coast and be able to visit the beach whenever the whim takes us; making memories, gathering treasures, and enjoying the wonders of nature. When we come home it's always time to empty our pockets and examine our prized possessions, debating our latest way of storing them and remembering the fun.

This time we went for a driftwood windchime.

The True Cost Of A 'Cheeky Drink' (Collaborative Post)

Despite the fact that the weather has been a little bit disagreeable over the weekend, the May Day Bank Holiday usually signals the start of the British Summer; family garden parties with over exuberant barbeques and cheeky glasses of Pimm's before heading to a pub beer garden for a few spritzers or ice-cold lagers.

The problem is that all these light and refreshing fizzy drinks soon mount up and before you know it you're driving a car that you're not fully in control of because you're over the legal limit for alcohol.
