Come on a magical journey into Dino world as Harry jumps into his magical blue bucket and his prehistoric toys spring to life.

Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs is a classic children's book written by Ian Whybrow and illustrated by Adrian Reynolds. Featuring five year old Harry, it tells the story of the hi-jinks he gets up to with when playing with his toy dinosaurs, a bucket full of them! In the television adaptation of the books, Harry plays with the dinosaurs by jumping into the bucket, which transports him to another world, called DinoWorld. Although the dinosaurs are toy-sized in the real world, when Harry joins them in DinoWorld they become actual dinosaurs.

In this two-disc DVD set from Abbey Home Media, Harry is an explorer, discovering the undiscovered aspects of DinoWorld, and then he is challenged to further explore in order to retrieve his green crayon. Never has such an ordinary task been so challenging. Full of adventures and simple lessons, this DVD set has over two hours of fun and frivolity for your explorers!

Competition

I have 5 copies of The New Adventures of Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs to give away, courtesy of Abbey Home Media. To be in with a chance of winning, please fill in all aspects of the Rafflecopter form below. Part-entries will be deleted.

A couple of months ago, I was pleasantly surprised one day to receive a parcel from one of my favourite companies: SIGG. They make stunningly beautiful, resuable and practical water bottles, and in this parcel were a few essentials for the Winter.

They were to prove to come in very useful during one of our favourite excursions in October: our first football match!

Three weeks before we went to see Cardiff Bluebirds beating Barnsley at home, we had been sat on Barry Island beach in temperatures that warranted shorts and t-shirts. For the day of the match, the weather wasn't that bad but there was a distinct chill in the air. The type of weather that if you didn't have a flask and a hot pasty to warm yourself, then you were going to turn as blue as the seats adorning the stands!

The Steelworks Metro Mugs and aluminium boxes that we were sent were perfect for exactly this purpose. Hot chocolate in the flask and a couple of hot pasties in the tin meant that we were kept toasty warm for the entire match, which quite frankly is a good job when you're sat still for ninety minutes.

The Steelworks Metro Mugs are a new design from SIGG that are quite simply stunning, insulated travel mugs. Slimline, they are perfect for fitting into a handbag for morning coffee on the way into work, or for a walk in the gret outdoors in these chilly Winter months. When we used them for the football, we filled it with hot water first to heat up and 'activate', then filled it with hot chocolate. This was at 1.15pm. By the time I got home at 5pm and emptied out the remaining inch or so, it was still very warm and drinkable. As the Metro mugs are a lot lighter and slender than other insulating drinks containers, they are much more convenient to carry around. Priced at £19.95 for a 0.38l mug or £14.95 for a 0.25l mug.

Mr. TheBoyandMe was most bemused when he saw the aluminium boxes because they resemble the traditional food boxes that he used to use in camping. I will confess that the retro design made me feel like George from The Famous Five and I really wanted to take lashing and lashing of ginger beer with us! They aren't designed to be an insulative food box, however as they are made of metal they do lend themselves to retaining heat better than a plastic box, especially if that food is wrapped up. With a clip-latch at either end, they are very easy to access and keep food secure. The aluminium boxes are also really sturdy and can take a few knocks, as with any SIGG products. Available in maxi (£26) or mini size (£23).

Would I recommend the Steelworks Metro Mugs and Aluminium boxes? I'd consider them a little bit of an essential at the moment!

And because Sigg are so very kind to the readers of TheBoyandMe, I have a beautiful Steelworks Metro Mug to give away to one lucky reader.

Cast your eyes over this beauty:

You know you want it!

In order to be in with a chance of winning this stunning Metro Mug worth £19.95, then please fill in the Rafflecopter form below. Please note, all parts are necessary to enter this competition: if you don't have twitter then you can't enter! I'd suggest nipping over and opening an account!

When I first started blogging I saw one or two bloggers review a product that I thought was amazing. A few weeks ago I was asked if I'd like to review it! That will be happening within the forthcoming weeks but take a look at this:

Create-a-world is a brilliant toy promoting children's imagination and story-telling skills. The creative play possibilities are endless and as it is similar to a fuzzy felt, the pieces won't slip easily but are removed without a problem. I can't wait to review this with The Boy, but in the mean-time Whitestep have kindly donated a Create-a-World (worth £49.99) for one of my readers.

To be in with a chance of winning this amazingly creative blogoversary prize, simply fill in the Rafflecopter form below:

Please note that by providing your e-mail address you are agreeing to receive correspondance from the PR company for Whitestep who may contact you about promotions.

Saturday nights in this household have been in need of a little magic recently. Gary is losing his sparkly appeal as he continues to make smide comments, Russell will no longer be shaking his glitter presence in the magic box in the corner and our only saving grace is the mysticism of the relationship between Arthur and Merlin.

Merlin has to be one of the best programmes to have been produced by the BBC in a good few years; a good quality family drama series perfect for a Saturday evening. Humorous, good acting, an underlying plot line punctuated by the ludicrous antics of the hapless Merlin and clean storylines with some old-fashioned swashbucking action!

This new series (series 4) is coming up to the halfway mark and I have been sent the latest DVD to review ahead of its release date on Monday 28th November.

With the bi-line: The darkest hour is just before the dawn the series promises more progress on the revelation of Merlin's magical ability, but will Arthur understand and tolerate it?

This DVD is really good; it uses CGI to whizz the viewer around the palace at Camelot when navigating the menu system to the individual episodes or the Bonus Features. Bonus Features include deleted scenes, out-takes and storyboards and really add to the DVD.

Volume 1 of series 4 DVD is released on Monday 28th November 2011, and voume 2 (and the complete series) will be out on 23rd January 2012.

However, three of you lucky people can receive one of these DVDs by entering this competition using the form below. These would make perfect Christmas presents, so get entering!

I was sent a check disc for this DVD for the purpose of this review. My opinion is honest and unbiased.

I am a massive fan of Orchard Toys and have been lucky enough to review several of their products, as well as buying them or having them passed down to me. The Boy has learnt how to do 24 piece jigsaws because of their progressive jigsaws (like the Nursery Rhymes jigsaw), and as well as being bright and attractive, they are robust, made from FSC cardboard and are British made.

They are currently running a competition to win one of their most popular products, the beautiful Teddy Bears' Picnic jigsaw. This 15-piece jigsaw is a really lovely example of their work and they are running three classes of the competition: 3 and under; 4 to 5 years and electronically coloured (in a paint programme) 4-5 years.

If you pop over to the product page, you'll find a colouring page which you can print off for your children to colour in. Alternatively there is an electronic image that your little ones can colour in and send back to them.

For more detailed information about the competition, click here.

Closing date is August 31st 2011, so you have plenty of time.
