Days 74 – 80 of Project 365

Days 74-80 of Project 365

74. What better way of celebrating Mother's Day than nursing your poorly son? How tired and fed up does he look in this photo? We'd been to the cinema to see 'Home' (brilliant film by the way) and then came home for dinner with my own mum.

75. A long day in work and this was the sunset on the way home; it is nice to be coming home in almost daylight at 6pm.

76. We were sent a new Orchard Toys game to review which we enjoyed after school, "In the bin!" was what he was saying here much to his own amusement.

77. Wednesday night is late night and sleeping boy night. Mum took him to the doctor and he has his first ear infection of the Winter, not bad considering his usual history!

78. I bought these glasses for The Boy in the supermarket and he was most amused by them, if only we all were as amused by drinking straw glasses!

79. Husband's 40th birthday today, and I don't think he could have actually felt more decrepid and ancient if he tried! He's nearly completely lost his voice, an eye-watering squeak comes out if he can even raise that amount of noise, poor bloke! I bought him a Kelly Kettle for his birthday while The Boy gave him an acrylic photo block, and then they went out for a meal at a Prezzo which has just opened in our town. I think he was happy enough with the celebrations!

80. We were supposed to be throwing this old car track out today; it's a huge sheet of cardboard propped up by the backdoor and has been there since we made it last Summer. The Boy started playing with it and then we broached the subject of putting it in recycling, and that's the point that he sobbed. I'm a complete and utter wimp and it's now back by the back door to be played with another time.

Those glasses are so cute! It's amazing how such simple things can make them so happy. I am also a complete wimp at throwing out old and broken things. It's usually right after I've binned something that they start asking for it (without knowing that I had thrown it) – couldn't feel more terrible if I tried!

That's actually his concentrating on beating mummy face although it's pretty clear he was feeling proper rotten. He's on the up now and DEFINITELY back at school on Monday.

He does look so sad and poorly in that first photo! Happy birthday to your husband, sorry he wasn't feeling his best either!
Love your sunset pic – the lighter evenings and mornings are so good πŸ™‚

We're avoiding Big Hero 6 (even though he wants to see it) as we've had such issues with his processing death lately that I'm not venturing there! Plus *I* don't want to watch a film about the loss of a sibling.

It was only Β£1 in Asda in the party bags section! 'Home' is proper lovely, can't wait to get it on DVD

  3. says

I've not heard of Home, must check it out. Sorry to hear of more illness with you all πŸ™ hopefully you can have a proper belated 40th knees up for the mister x

    • TheBoyAndMe says

He's getting worse (and I'm becoming more intolerant! I could never be a nurse!) and I think needs to visit the out of hours doctor. Do go and see 'Home' it's lovely!

    • TheBoyAndMe says

He actually beat me in the end, he's very competitive at games and I can't think *where* he gets it from! πŸ˜‰

  4. says

those glasses would have kept me amused at his age too (maybe even nowadays!)
so sorry Mr TBaM was unwell on his 40th but it sounds like a lovely day and evening anyway.

    • TheBoyAndMe says

They're cool aren't they? Mr. TBaM is actually proper poorly bless him, although his coughing is beginning to irk me!

  5. says

Oh bless him, he does look so tired in the first photo! Love the car track, I would never be able to convince my 3 to throw that away! Happy birthday to your hubby! #365

Those glasses would be a huge hit with my kids too. I do any 'recycling' of toys in different stages – first I sort of hide them, then after a long, long while if they're not missed I finally recycle them but making sure it's when the kids are not at home!

  7. says

I'm sorry you've all had illness. It's that time of year, so many of my friends and us have had bugs too! Ps I want some of this glasses for wine drinking!

  8. says

Poor thing, I hope he's feeling a bit better. He does look fed up in that first photo, but definitely much happier in the one with that straw πŸ™‚ Sorry to hear that your husband was ill for his 40th too, that's such a shame x

  9. says

Isn't it typical when they haven't played with something for ages and the moment you think about throwing it out they're suddenly into it again! I love the glitter picture, super sparkly!

  10. says

how blooming cute does he look in those specs!

sorry haven't joined in for a while, had been struggling to keep up with comments etc and just needed to get myself in order! πŸ™‚

Happy belated birthday to hubby, I will have you know 40 is not old or decrepit. The boy does look fed up, but maybe he was starting with the ear ache.
Its really nice coming home in the daylight, clocks change next week and I will get to come home in the light.
Hope he keeps using the car track.

  12. says

Hope the household has an illness free week, glad The Boy is feeling better, we have two pairs of these glasses and they always make me smile. Belated Happy birthday to Mr TBaM xx

  13. says

While the earache totally sucks the fact that it is the first of the season is a huge win. Ear infections have been a recurring theme in the years I have followed you

  14. says

Love those glasses. I've been enjoying taking pictures of sunsets as well recently in excitement of the days get lighter, but I think the weather one I have in my current selection is fog as I'm several weeks behind πŸ™‚

  15. says

Get well soon wishes all round. I love the concentrating face and as for the car track – it's just the same here. We have SO much stuff that needs to exit but I am persuaded otherwise and give in!

  16. says

I'm rubbish at throwing stuff out as well. We'd have mountains more space if I got brave and threw stuff away.

Also, those glasses would keep me amused for ages – never mind the kids πŸ˜‰

  17. says

Hope your little man feels better now, Love his straw glasses, it's the little things isn't it.
Love the sunset capture too, I am so glad the lighter nights are finally coming, can get much more done.
    Great pics πŸ™‚
