3 Good Things

I've started taking part in a project called Embrace Happy, specifically an aspect of it called '3 Good Things'.

2015 is going to be a tough year for our family and I think trying to remember that 'while not all days are good, there is good in every day' will really help me to deal with the ups and downs, of which there will be many!

Life is Beautiful

I am, what I often describe as, an optimistic pessimist: if I always assume that things will be negative or go wrong, then I will be pleasantly surprised. I joke about it, and by and large I do try and stay positive. But cor blimey, I can get wound up. I'm a very fiery tempered person, and if something winds me up then I bang on about it for about half an hour, then it's forgotten. But who does it help? Not me, not those around me who have to calm me down and listen to me. And let's face it, it's not good for my blood pressure, or my well being.

So from here on in, I'm attempting to find 3 Good Things every day. I don't know how I'll record them, possibly I'll go old school and use a notebook, I may share some from my week on here or on Instagram.

I've also chosen a word for 2015, a word to help me stay focused:

MOTIVATION

I'm pretty sure that my counsellor would prefer me to use acceptance, as I have a constant need to have other accept me. However, I didn't want to become weighed down in that thought. I'm going for motivation because I often start projects and don't finish them, enthusiasm wanes after the initial buzz and I give up. However, I need to stay motivated to see things through; various projects and ideas, weightloss, personal health, even to get going on a weekend morning and not waste the day!

There comes a point when things need to change, and this is that point.

I've followed Karen's 3 good things, on Instagram. I've loved them, as it's finding a reason to smile in the smallest of ways. I love the idea of picking a word for the year too, hope Motivation works for you, I wonder what mine would be? Xx
