Hot Wheels Track Builder: Total Turbo Takeover (Review)

The Boy is a long term fan of Hot Wheels Walltracks and has several sets which we enjoy putting together into different combinations for him. We've never tried the floor sets though and therefore were delighted when he was recently sent the Total Turbo Takeover to review.

Total Turbo Takeover

The Total Turbo Takeover is a set which can link together with other sets in the Hot Wheels Track Builder System range to extend the roads and play options greatly. The set comes with enough pieces which allow for it to be set up in a variety of ways, although this is of course extended when further sets are added to it. In theory it should also be able to be linked to the end of a Wall Tracks set as the joiners are the same.

It's described as having a 'Double Boost Bi-Way' with a two-speed booster that can help the car on it's way around the track once the inital acceleration has been lost. The set advertises 'car-activated, action-oriented stunts' which means that it drives over levers which drop boulders down or flips up an 'oilspill'.

It's a fun set which does work quite well and The Boy really enjoys it, it's fun to play with the loop-the-loops and he likes seeing the boost halfway around. However I must say that the noise is quite irritating after a while and I don't understand why the boulders are there, they serve no purpose.

The Hot Wheels Track Builder: Total Turbo Takeover has an RRP of £39.99 and is available from high street toy shops and online at Amazon.

I was sent this product for the purpose of this review, my opinion is honest and unbiased.
