Days 166 – 172 of Project 365

Days 166 - 172 of Project 365

166. Surprise! (We had bought The Boy a bike for his birthday, but with the Big Reveal of his room and his party, then we waited until today to give him his present. He was over the moon! And despite it being slightly too large for him, he managed to ride it perfectly. I'm very proud of him for accomplishing something that I can't!)

167. Hook (It's not an attractive photograph for which I'm sorry, but it's my life. Today I had my wisdom tooth out, apparently 'the most hooked tooth' that the consultant had ever seen! EEEK! Before we left we made sure that I wasn't still bleeding and I was assured I wasn't, which is why I had to go back four hours later to be stitched as I hadn't clotted. Fun!)

168. Pirate Play (Very simple after-school play activity for The Boy.)

169. Ominous (We've been sent camping stuff to review, which is quite hysterical as I don't do camping. My biggest fear is that I'm actually going to bloody love it, which I really don't want to happen.)

170. Owww! (After two days of virtually no pain and time off work, I returned to school today and struggled all day with pain and feeling woozy. After nipping to the dentist after school and receiving a prescription for antibiotics, I arrived home and mum sent me to bed for half an hour. Waking up I was in incredible pain, and no painkillers were touching it. We ended up in A&E waiting to see the on-call oral surgeon who put me on a drip for IV antibiotics, after an x-ray to check there was no underlying issue, gave me two types of antibiotics and two types of painkillers, and put a dressing into the extraction site. We got home at 1.30a.m.)

171. Proud (I'm so proud of One Dad 3 Girls who won the Social and Innovate category last nigt at the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging awards; he's worked incredibly hard, especially on Love All Dads, and thoroughly deserves the recognition.)

172. My Home (I've had a wonderful time at the Britmums blogging conference for the past two days, but dear God I've missed my family and home. It's the first time I've been and not brought Mr. TBaM and The Boy, and I've found it really hard not seeing them at the end of the day. The Boy has also struggled, he was apparently very upset at bed time last night, and when they came to meet me, he wouldn't let go of me and hugged me so tightly. We nipped down to the beach afterwards, to breathe fresh sea air is refreshing after the stifling aromas of London.)

Wow, that is some tooth! Ouch. I hope you are fully recovered now from all the pain? I can totally relate to your feelings about missing the boys. I missed mine too and really hadn't thought I would do so as much as I did! I love the beach shot the best…..it's awesome! Maybe next year we'll meet?

I am fully recovered now, thank you, but it was quite horrendous at the time. So sad we didn't get to meet. Love the photo of everyone crowded into the courtyard on yours, such a wonderful venue. Thanks for linking up to Project 365.

Oh you poor thing with the tooth. I don't have a good history of teeth and dentists, but thankfully haven't suffered any after pain and effects like you did there.

I cannot imagine how much pain you must have been in! Brave lady! And brave lady for agreeing to review camping gear. Not my thing either but being pressured to try it out this summer. Let's compare notes!

all 4 of my wisdom teeth are still impacted, occasionally I can feel the top ones, almosts feels as if they are trying to erupt, but never have done yet, maybe one day (when I become wise….lol)
Doesn't sound like it has been a fun week for you at all. Its nice to get home to your children, was never keen on leaving mine when they were young either, shame he got upset and missed you. Great beach picture, and a huge well done on the bike with no stabilisers.

My goodness, look at the size of that tooth! Looking forward to hearing about your impending camping trip. I imagine The Boy will love it, you might be less impressed! So pleased for One Dad 3 Girls too – he deserved to win πŸ™‚

Ouch for the tooth issues, hopefully that solves it once and for all.

I'm very jealous of the tent, can't wait to camp with N but think it'll be a while as I'm relying on going with my friend who knows what she's doing, as my OH will not camp.

It was so good to spend the weekend with you and actually get to catch up. Ahhh look it's me on stage it still hasn't sunk in and seeing that picture may have brought a little tear to my eye

What a tooth! It seems to fit in with the pirate pic somehow….or have we been watching too much Tinkerbell and the Pirate fairy here…I also don't do camping but am being gradually tempted….backgarden camping might be ok…bravo for a return to the beach

  13. says

Ouchy for that wisdom tooth, hope you're all healed now! Think you should embrace the camping lifestyle – it's great fun and the boy looks quite excited by the prospect! Have an overnight stay in your garden if you're a bit nervous – the boy would love it!
So sorry I didn't get to meet you last weekend – Bex (MummyAdventure) kept saying she'd seen you but never when I was with her so I missed you completely. Hope you enjoyed it despite missing home. xx

  14. says

Oh my goodness! That tooth πŸ™ No wonder you were in so much pain afterwards. I had all four of mine out at the same time under a general, refused point blank to go to the dentist to have it done…
Love The Boys face in the bike photo x So wonderful to meet you at BritMums πŸ™‚

Wow what a horrible time with that tooth extraction. Glad you're all well now.
We are lucky to live near the coast, the sea air is always good for the soul.
