Bedding From The Fine Bedding Company (Review & Giveaway)

At the same time that Mr. TBaM and I were sent some new bedding to keep us nestled in our slumber, The Fine Bedding Company also sent some for The Boy so he wouldn't feel left out!

children's duvets

The bedding set being used as a den above is the children's anti-allergy set available  in 4.5 or 7 tog for a cotbed or 4.5 tog for a single bed (this set is a single bed set with a pillow and duvet). It has a peachskin cover for a soft and comforting finish, the duvet has a soft microfibre blend filling while the pillow is filled with mini ball clusters, it uses Amicor anti-allergy treatment and is washable at 60°C (the temperature that kills dustmites).

The anti-allergy set costs £35.00 for the duvet and pillow for the single bed and from £30.00 for the cotbed sets. Having spent some time researching other prices on the Internet, it does seem to be the average price for an anti-allergy set, indeed the duvet alone that The Boy had previously was reduced to £20 in a sale and that was without the pillow. I think that it's a fair price for a set which will ensure that our sensitive-skinned son sleeps well each night with mimimal irritation.

In anticipation of, and to help promote, Anti-Allergy Week (22nd-28th April 2013), The Fine Bedding Company are very generously giving away one Children's Anti-allergy Bed Set worth from £30.00 to one lucky reader on TheBoyandMe.

To be in with a chance of winning, please complete the Rafflecopter form below. (The prize will be either a 4.5 or 7.0 tog cotbed set, or a 4.5 tog single bed set, including a duvet and a pillow)

I was sent this product for the purpose of this review. My opinion is honest and unbiased.

I always hoover the matress every month & change the bedding every two weeks, use non bio washing tablets and fabric softner

Control moulds – which includes cleaning bathtubs and showers monthly! (I hate cleaning plug holes but was given this advice by my doctor!)

We have a very special mattress for our little one – it's basically a metal frame with a sheet and its hollow inside! It's the best thing we ever got for our boy: his dad suffers from all allergies under the sun as well as asthma and eczema 🙂

i hoover daily and open the windows, i try not to use chemicals for cleaning in the boys room, i try and use baking soda or soda crystals as the smells seem to set my son off

My daughter has asthma, under control now, she's 22, but I do remember scary times when she was young. Keep pets out of bedrooms, minimum of carpets for easy vacuuming, use paint or varnish when kids are away. Wet comb with conditioner rather than use headlice killer. Have spare inhalers!

I leave the duvet cover off the bed during the day,it keeps the bed cool and cuts down the risk of bed mites,if you make the bed as soon as you get out of it the warm environment is a haven for them!

Top tip – laminate floors so you can wet dust easier. I have perennial rhinitis and it makes such a difference over carpets.

We invested in a specialist vacuum for pet hair – we don't have any pets! I chose thy particular one because it boasted good results for other allergies including pollen! My little family, between us, have many allergies and asthmatics so I often look for anti allergy products!

Hoover well & regularly THEN wipe any dust down with wet wipes/cloths. Open windows slightly each day too just to allow fresh air in & vacuum the beds often.

My main tip is to persuade your partner that we don't have to have feather pillows! I've never been affected by them until we moved into this house but I struggled terribly until we replaced them recently.

Hang the duvet out during the winter (if we ever get a dry day). It kills off the dust mites and a few other nasties that can cause allergies.
