Days 48-54 of Project 365

48-54 of 365

48. 'Sandcastle' (It feels like too long since The Boy has played with his sandtable, so we uncovered it and he got stuck in making mini-sandcastles and driving his cars through the sand. A chillier day than it had been the previous week, turns out Spring wasn't on its way after all!)

49. 'Downfall' (I was sorting through one of the boxes in the Ikea unit in the living room when I found Downfall nestled at the bottom of it. I got it out for The Boy and we spent most of the morning playing the game; he picked it up quickly and was really good at developing a strategy. It has remained the most played with toy of the the week!)

50. 'Chilled Out' (Every day-off morning before Mr. TBaM goes to work, The Boy sits on our bed while I shower quickly and get dressed. This morning I climbed back into bed to warm up and The Boy leant against me chilling out playing on the iPad. I love how completely relaxed he is.)

51. 'Run, run as fast as you can!' (In lieu of the fact that we want an XBox Kinext but can't afford one, we've introduced The Boy to the Wii this week and he has become a fan of the bowling game. However, we introduced him to running on the Wii Fit and he is now obsessed with it and wants to play it all the time! He loves competing against us to see who can run the fastest and it's very cute to see his little legs flying around the place as he tried to run as fast as he possibly can.)

52. 'Eggy Words' (Yes I know it's another technology shot, but such is our life this week as it has been so damned cold! I've just downloaded Eggy Words by Reading Eggs for review, and The Boy has completely taken to spelling out simple CVC words on it, I'm very proud of him!)

53: 'Slumber' (Zonked out after a long morning at nursery, and a long afternoon playing with nana, The Boy slept soundly all night. Just before our bed I went to check on him and found this tousle-haired young man cuddling Oliver Monkey tight, I do love watching him sleep.)

54: 'Lazy Saturday' (We've been very lazy today and done hardly anything! I feel quite rotten this morning and Mr. TBaM very kindly let me have a lie-in which knocked out most of the morning, and they both went shopping to give me a bit more space. Upon their return I walked into the living room and found The Boy having a bit of a chill out session on the sofa with the iPad, again. I think it's the jeans which make him look like older, it's why I tend not to dress him in them.)

I'm actually a little ashamed of the fact that there are four technology photos in this lot and only one outdoor photo. We've failed a bit on our 15 minutes outdoor play this week (only managing it five times) because of how horribly cold it has been; next week will be better!

lovely post. When did the boy get so big? He's gorgeous and looks adorable all cuddled up sleeping tight with his monkey x

I know, I don't think he's grown again but he looks so much bigger. I love the sleeping photos, remind me that he's just a baby.

They are from Argos, I'm not sure they do big boy sizes though. My mum calls that look on his face' his four eyebrows expression' because he does seem to have another set of them.

Whether we like it or not technology will be a big part of their lives. Having apps that teach them things and wii games they can exercise on can't be all bad can it? You are right. the jeans do make him look all grown up

    • TheBoyAndMe says

Thanks, I think I needed someone to say that, although I do feel guilty that he didn't have more fresh air with me.

That Wii photo made me laugh as L used to love the running on Wii fit too, he would have run for miles if we had let him. Gorgeous sleeping photo, he is really looking so grown up!

The Boy probably would as well but I wasn't sure his little heart could take much more, it was ever so funny seeing him with his legs and arms flailing though!

Love the picture of the boy sleeping, I think sleeping children are so sweet. We have had a similar week as its been too cold to go out and had poorly girls its never fun being stuck it but at least you have educational games for him to play on 🙂

    • TheBoyAndMe says

It's been so bitterly cold hasn't it? I'm normally one for going out regardless but not when it's biting cold.

    • TheBoyAndMe says

I took about ten photos and this was the one that had the best focus, but you're right I think, every part of him is giving it some welly isn't it?

I didn't know you could still get Downfall, I used to really love that game!! He looks so adorable when he's sleeping. It's been one of those weird weeks with weather…absolutely freezing some and fine others!

    • TheBoyAndMe says

You can still get Downfall but it's now a really weird, and slightly ugly, design. This one is from the early 2000s when Mr. TBaM and I bought it.

these are great photos even if they are taken mostly indoors – nothing wrong with that. at the end of the day technology plays a big role in our lives and those of our children and its nice to see a different to his little life at home.
the first pic shows great concentration in filling the pot with sand and the one of him asleep with tousled hair is adorable with Oliver monkey by his side. x

I've tried without the flash but they're always too grainy, even with the dimmer bedroom light turned up.

    • TheBoyAndMe says

Snow?! My word. I know I wanted it earlier in February but I've had my dose now for the Winter and if it comes back I shall be most unimpressed.

    • TheBoyAndMe says

The Wii is still loads of fun and I'm trying to persaude Mr. TBaM that it's just the same. Shame I'm not convinced myself!

    • TheBoyAndMe says

I think they make them look so much older, it's why I usually have him in trousers or jogging bottoms. It is *our* iPad (mine!).

  7. Mandi Morrison says

So pleased he likes Downfall, I have a very soft spot for the game as my husbands uncle designed it!! iPads and technology are the way forward, he will be at the top of the class in IT!!

  8. says

Once again, I absolutely love your photos. The one where the boy is sleeping is just adorable! But the downfall sends shivers down my spine- my sisters and I used to have physical fights over this game!! 😀

    xxx

    • TheBoyAndMe says

Really? Physical fights?! Wow! You guys must have been competitive. I am very fond of the game, it's good fun!

  9. says

You gotta love the technology!! Love the fact he is enjoying the wii fit and making you all compete at running!! The sofa shot is my fav. It does make him look older with the jeans on x

  10. says

it was a chilly week. i love the cloud pjs. i love photos of sleeping children, he looks so cosey. and as for outside pursuits…who doesn't struggle with the cold!

So jealous of your ipad, I'm trying to convince Aaron that we NEED one 🙂 I used to love Downfall too, that's one to look out for in my bargain hunting!
