As a child I had my nose constantly buried in an Enid Blyton book, full of elves, pixies, and tree sprites galore. The little woodland creatures who would rush about with wicker shopping baskets wearing acorns as helmets, leaves as clothing and hop from tree to tree using dandelion spores as gliders; they all enchanted me.
In the 21st century this still happens but they also do Tree Fu, a version of tai-chi, designed to draw on the magics of the forest to help with their (mis) adventures and capers. Oh, and in the words of The Boy, it features a 'little shrinking boy' called Tom who is the leader of the mischievious gang.
Tree Fu Tom is an enchanting series from CBeebies, set in an enchanted world full of sprites, bugs and naughty fungi where movement creates magic. Featuring the voices of David Tennant (new Doctor Who) and Sophie Aldred (old Doctor Who) the fantasy adventure series is releasing it's second DVD on 18 February containing six big world adventures.
