Christmas Gifts From Yellow Moon

I've been sent a selection of fantastic gift ideas from Yellow Moon for The Boy to enjoy and I wanted to share them with you.

Dinosaur Fingerprint Art Set

Fingerprinting is great fun and The Boy loves getting as messy as possible with inks and paints. The 'Fingerprint Dinosaur Art Set' is a great way of encouraging that sensory play and encouraging him to make pictures at the same time.

Inside the pencil-case sized tin are:

  • three ink pads
  • ten colouring pencils
  • nine stamps.

Using the ink pads and the stamps (featuring images like eyes, horns, claws and feet), children can create their own dinosaur landscape and scary prehistoric animals. It's great fun, and very messy, but messy is fun!

The Dinosaur Finger Printing Set is available for £7.99

Mini Voice Changer

This is a must, an absolute must! It's a small, hand-held, megaphone-style device with a push button and four different voice settings on it:

  • kid
  • boy
  • old man
  • robot

To be honest, they all sounds pretty similar to each other aside from the robot, but the settings do change the voice fantastically, and The Boy is obsessed with this little gizmo at the moment. He even picks it up to talk to us when we're playing a game together!

The Mini Voice Changer is available for £6.99

The Original Glow Star

When I painted The Boy's bedroom as a sky and garden scene (in an ideal world with money being no issue), I wanted fibre-optic stars all over his ceiling but it was unachievable. However, these Glow Stars are fantastic little glow-in-the-dark stickers are ideal to create constellations and the night sky and come in a variety of different sizes to help create a more realistic scene.

Glow Stars are available for £4.99

Design & Drill Take-Along Toolkit

The Boy has two real interests: discovering how things work and art. We really enjoy our art and craft sessions together, but likewise he loves making robots with Daddy, and helping Grandad to fix his picnic bench with his electric screwdriver. Therefore when we were sent this 'Design & Drill Take-Along Toolkit' I knew it would go down extremely well indeed as it crosses over between his two interests.

The 'Design & Drill Take-Along Toolkit' is a small white and blue plastic toolkit with holes all over both sides. Inside the carry case (which folds flat into a workboard) are:

  • sixty bolts/screws in five different colours
  • a reversible powered screwdriver (requires 3 AA batteries)
  • three drill bits
  • a guide including twelve design patterns.

portable toolkit

This is a fantastic set for three years+, perfect for inquisitive pre-schoolers. The three drill bits resemble a Phillips screwdriver, a flat-head screwdriver and a socket screwdriver, with the added bonus that every single screw or bolt in the pack has a head to it which can accommodate all three due to the design. In attition to the mechanical aspect of being a 'workman', because there are five different coloured bolts/screws then it gives children the opportunity to create patterns or pictures in the board.

And then it all neatly folds away afterwards!

The 'Design & Drill Take-Along Toolkit' is available for £19.99 which is cheaper than on Amazon and Argos websites.

I was sent these products for the purpose of this post. My opinions are honest and unbiased.

When i was a student glow in the dark stars were very cool and I put them absolutely everywhere, even in my bedroom at home! About 15 years on they're still in my old bedroom and little Z loves them. I think I'm going to have to invest in some for his bedroom.
