£20.46!

One vodka and coke, one kahlua and coke.

In a hotel in London.

£17.90!

In a well-known supermarket anywhere else in Britain.

And at that rate, MammyWoo and I had one drink.

Just as well that the rather fantastic Sally Whittle (Evil Overlord extraordinaire) had arranged free wine on each table in the MAD Blog Awards to help us enjoy the celebrations of the blogging world. Seventy bloggers, all female bar one, in pretty, bejewelled dresses with swit-swoo hair and make-up at a three course meal in a London hotel. Lots of high heels, squealing, underwear adjustments, photographs, hugs and a lot of blog love.

I had a great time meeting up with some of my real-life blogging friends (The Five Fs, Not My Year Off, The Crazy Kitchen and Coombe Mill) while having a brilliant time with the one and only inimitable MammyWoo.

I didn't win, she did. And I screamed because she did.

(To be fair I also screamed when Coombe Mill won).

This is my 24 hours in Londinium.

Thank you to every single person who felt that I was a good role-model for photography in the blogging world and nominated me, and then went on to vote for me. I'd be lying if I said I am disappointed that I didn't win, of course I wanted to! However, I'm not lying or being insincere when I say that being there as one of the top five has made my year when it comes to blogging. Thank you.

Thank you so much Jenny, you've been such a great support to me, as a blogger and as a friend. I am really chuffed I was there, and you should have been there; I missed you.

On a work mode thing, I've had to judge awards for a few years, to coin Jenny, it's 'ruddy' hard work, and is so difficult to get consensus on a decision.
I think you've done a 'ruddy' amazing job, beyond just the photography bit (and I don't mean to undermine with the word 'just' you're 'ruddy' good at that) but the community bit, keeping everyone going, alongside yourself, encouraging the community at the troughs when you might be having your own.
Being a finalist… well, most can aspire where you have achieved.
I doff my hat- a mighty well done! A great big hug. And yes, that should of course be cwtch, but I leave that to The Boy.

You have no idea how much that means to me that you've pointed out the bit about the community because I do try hard and I just want people to take photos of the magical moments of their lives, and to enjoy it. Thank you so much for your continued support and very kind words.

You completely deserved your place as a finalist in your category and obviously I think you should have won!! An amazing evening and I'm very glad I was there to see it all live and to see you. And bloody hell… I opened the mini bar fridge in my room and then quickly slammed it shut again!

I should have twigged the prices when MammyWoo said it was £3 for a bottle of water. £3! But £7.50 for a shot of Kahlua is disgusting! I wish you'd won, I nominated you for that category and voted for you too.

Glad you had a great time, would have loved to have been there and met you. Well done for your nomination, I really hoped you'd win but to be nominated was brilliant, and as Jenny said says a lot about you and your blog.

Thank you so much, however I knew I wasn't going to win. The winner takes technically beautiful photographs and mine are just snaps.

You are fab lady in every way, you were the one who helped my fledgling blog a year ago and I was gutted for you not to win. It was an amazing evening but I would have really liked to see you up there, I know how much goes into your blog and how many people like me appreciate it. Please don't ever change. Your support has meant so much to me.

Thank you for being lovely, of course I was disappointed not to win but seriously didn't expect to for a moment. You *might* have just made me cry!

Thank you lovely, I'm not going to lie that I'm not disappointed but I genuinely didn't think I was going to win. One day we'll meet! I've bought my ticket for Britmums 2013, are you going to that one?
