Fade Out Protecting Day Cream SPF15 (Giveaway)

I know that we're coming to the end of the Summer and you may be wondering the relevance of this post and competition now, but there is never a wrong time to protect your skin from sun damage. Even in the middle of Winter, the sun's rays can be damaging. Especially in Winter in this country if the past few years are anything to go by.

Five years ago I used to look at my sister's skin with concern. She'd developed this brownish pigmentation around her hairline on her forehead and it was quite obvious. She told me that it was nicknamed the pregnancy mask and was in fact chloasma. Fast forward two and a half years and it's my forehead that I'm looking at in concern.

Ever since I've had The Boy, I have this hyper pigmentation around my scalpline and it's not the most attractive thing to look at. Most of the time I can cover it up with foundation, but I know it's still there. The key that I have found to preventing it from becoming incredibly obvious is to ensure that you don't develop a tan around that area, so I always put SPF15+ on my face in the Summer. It helps a lot.

Fade Out Protecting Day Cream SPF15 is an excellent protecting cream which is light, non-greasy and absorbs quickly. Foundation sits on top of it really nicely.

"An advanced range of affordable mass market skincare products to visibly brighten, even-out skin tone and restore a youthful, natural radiance are about to go on sale on beauty counters nationwide. This “must-use” range with exceptional credentials includes Niacinamide and powerful active naturals such as mulberry and liquorice to offer visible results in as little as four weeks.

  • Penetrates deep into the skin's outer layers, preventing the melanin from reaching the upper layers of the skin – skin appears lighter
  • Specially formulated with SPF15, skin is protected from both the ageing and darkening effects of the sun – skin looks younger
  • Targets problem areas of hyper-pigmentation, skin discolouration, age spots and sunspots – dark areas fade
  • Enhances the cell renewal process, slowing down and inhibiting the formation of further dark spots – skin remains lighter."

Fade Out cream

Now I'm no dermatologist and I've not been using it long enough to back up the claims made that it has a 100% success rate of looking lighter. I've not got any fancy tools and I'm just one person. However, it is a rich moisturising cream with a good SPF in it and it only costs £9.18 for a tub that lasts a long time. Surely that's a good enough reason to use it. And it it does happen to lessen the effect of my pregnancy mask (three years after his birth!) then I'll be a happy bunny!

I always tend to use water to wash my face instead of harsh chemical cleansers and it seems to make my skin alot better

Don't be obsessed with make-up – try to have days when you just wake up and moisturise! I do and my skin is so much brighter than when it was during my younger years when I everyday!

However tempting it may be after a night out, always take off every scrap of make-up before you go to bed …

Don't just rely on makeup wipes to remove makeup, they often leave behind quite a lot of make up. Instead after using your wipes also use a good liquid make up remover such as Clinique's Take off the Day, you'll be astonished with how much make up is left behind with wipes.

I always use a mild facial wash n water, but the week leading to my period I always use soap as I have oily break outs and the soap dries it out but only do it for a few days per month 🙂

Lots of moisturiser, vaseline is great for chapped lips. Try not to frown too much, smile more – I'd choose smile lines over frown lines any day.

Moisturiser or sun lotion! I haven't been anywhere sunny this year, but I've used a very strong moisturiser whenever I've been out walking in wintry conditions (most of the year haha)!

Exfoliate a few times a week and consider switching to tinted moisturiser with a good SPF and a little concealer where necessary rather than heavy foundation.

remove your makeup as soon as you get in from work – if your sticking around the house, leave your skin clear and open to air

Drink water, water and more water! I also cleanse with Witch Hazel, cheap and effective, and everyone tells me that I look young! Maybe they are just being kind!

Like others its the removal of make up before bedtime and plenty of moisturiser in the morning to act as a barrier before going out
